Chick Wings & Things Opens in Rockaway

The co-owners of Chick Wings & Things, Karen Blair Pabon and Rockeem Magbie, love seeing the wide range of customers who enjoy their wings—from kids as young as five to adults in their 80s. What started as a food truck has grown into a brick-and-mortar spot in Rockaway. They serve casual meals and healthier comfort options, featuring all-natural chicken and popular homemade sauces like hot honey garlic butter, buffalo garlic Parmesan, and barbecue.

A Place to Roost

The food truck travels across the state, hitting food festivals in spring and summer, while the Rockaway brick-and-mortar serves as a home base with exclusive items. Signature dishes include mac n cheese, grilled cheese, grilled chicken, pulled pork, slow-cooked brisket, and ice cream floats. Restaurant-only wing sauces like hot honey garlic butter and cilantro lime, plus specials like 10 for $10 wings on Wednesdays, make every visit unique.

About The Business

The 1,900-square-foot brick-and-mortar mirrors the original food truck, creating a familiar, welcoming space. Karen and Rockeem, who have lived in the area over 20 years, originally sold everything from burgers to cheesesteaks and gyros. Focusing on wings allowed them to reach new heights. After patiently saving while running the food truck, they opened their dream restaurant in their hometown, balancing restaurant energy with their love for the truck.
